Though I was born in the USA, my childhood was spent in the Netherlands with my American mother. From an early age I tinkered, drew, tore my toys apart, and rebuilt them. I was naturally drawn to a blend of creative and engineering disciplines.
After high school in Utrecht I briefly studied industrial design in college before embarking on an adventure to California. Here I attended California State University in Chico, Northern California. I studied mechatronic engineering and took material science as a minor. I managed my father’s café, roasted coffee and hit the various trails with my mountain bike. A few years passed and I moved to San Francisco (by way of Seattle) to get back to studying industrial design, this time at the Academy of Art University.
After graduating with a focus on furniture design, I moved to Texas and ended up working in various industries including aerospace as an aircraft cabin designer. My technical background in engineering and my degree in design allowed me to thrive in complex design development projects as well as the always intense exhibition and experiential marketing industry.
After helping to launch a design and manufacturing company in Austin, I started my experiential agency ERGO Experiential. Though the company was a hit my business partner and I split ways.
I now do consulting work in experiential marketing, industrial design, environmental design, and design engineering.
